Green printing, or printing with eco-friendly processes, is important for the environment. Printed goods are a part of every day life for most people and businesses. Large volumes of paper products are used on a daily basis and it is important to reflect on how their usage may impact our environment. While it's true that paper production taxes forests, water, and energy supplies to some extent, many of the resources associated with paper production and printing are easily renewable and do not harm the environment.
While we aren't perfect, we are genuinely concerned with the health of our planet and the environment. As we grow within the printing industry we are excited about incorporating new resource and energy-saving processes. With your help, and our awareness, we can start to make a difference.
Taradel's Approach to Green Printing:- We use soy-based inks instead of petroleum-based inks.
- Our paper is 10% or more post consumer waste (PCW). (We believe that the harmful chemicals needed to make 100% PCW paper usable in advertising are far worse for the environment than using more paper. Trees are a renewable resource that quickly grow back. Putting harmful chemicals, such as chlorine, into the environment in order to make 100% recycled paper highly usable has long-lasting negative effects.)
- We use aqueous plates that do not require the use of toxic developers.
- We run all emissions (99%) through afterburners.
- We use paper that meets the American National Standards Institute standards for product longevity.
- We use "Energy Saver" features on all applicable equipment.
